Searching one’s Ikigai?
 
As per ancient Vedic literature, every human being, lives a life based on three fundamental pillars namely Health (स्वास्थ्य – svāsthya), Education (शिक्षा – śikṣā) and Mode of Earning (व्यवसाय – Business). All these pillars are equally important for a fulfilled life.

We all strive for satisfaction and purpose in our lives. Your ikigai, “a reason to live” is your reason for jumping out of bed in the morning, what motivates you to enjoy and appreciate life every day. That marks a difference between being successful and feeling happy.

Ikigai is a beneficial practice in career (or mode of earning) because it helps in blending your own passions and needs, and what the world needs. It also helps to maintain a good balance between other two pillars of life.

Only a Guru can direct, guide for this long-term self-discovery process, in implementing these four fundamental components of life: Passion, Vocation, Profession and Mission.

Traditionally, within Gurukul education, Guru used suggest a path/a trade for life to their pupil based on their assessment throughout the learning process. Few pupils were also encouraged to become Guru for next generation of pupils. In today’s world, it aptly relates with Train-The-Trainer Model of training strategy.

Jump over thousands of years, and in today’s modern demanding world, Gurukul Education is exceedingly rare. There is greater need to understand one’s inner world and external world and a mentor can help on this path.
